Description
Context and Problem Statement¶
Yank now runs on several hosts. The SQLite files of ADR-0002 Keep sync state in SQLite files Superseded drift apart. We follow the shared database of Meta › ADR-0002 Use one shared PostgreSQL service for every instance Accepted.
Considered Options¶
- Shared PostgreSQL
- Replicated SQLite files
Decision Outcome¶
Chosen option: "Shared PostgreSQL", because every host sees the same cursors.
Consequences¶
- Good, because no state is lost when two hosts sync.
- Bad, because Yank now needs a database server.
