Context¶
Each instance used to run its own database server, which multiplied backups and upgrades.
Decision¶
Every instance uses one shared PostgreSQL service, with a database and a user per instance.
Consequences¶
One backup and one upgrade cover every instance. A failure of the service affects all of them, so it needs monitoring.
